Most communities have farmers markets one day a week, but that wasn’t enough for all that Columbia’s All Local Farmers’ Market has to offer. It’s open every Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon and Wednesdays from 4 to 8 p.m. — and not just in summer, but year round.
That’s one of many reasons we love living in the South. There’s something fresh, local and delicious available every week nearly year round. Here’s just a quick sample of the South Carolina products and produce available:
· all-natural or organic produce
· grass-fed beef
· cage-free eggs
· free-range chicken and lamb
· organic grains
· local honey and flowers
· all-natural and raw milk
The market also features artisan breads, baked goods, hot sauces, goat milk soaps and lotions, specialty foods and more. Check out this week’s list for an updated list of available products.
You can also do more than shop; you can eat there, too. Several catering companies offer lunch, and chocolatiers and gelato makers set up shop, as well, to keep your energy up while shopping for all that yummy produce!
The All Local Farmers’ Market is also a collection station for Harvest Hope Food Bank. They collect perishable and non-perishable goods for those in need. Look for marked containers inside the market building to share your bounty.
The All Local Farmers’ Market is on the south side at 711 Whaley and is also referred to as the Whaley Farmers Market. Come see your neighbors and support local growers and businesses at the All Local Farmers’ Market in downtown Columbia. Enjoy!
